NCJH Summer Reading
North Corbin Junior High is encouraging all students to read over the summer!
Students entering the 7th and 8th grades who meet their regular nine weeks reading goal (students are aware of their goal) over the summer will be invited to an incentive party at the beginning of school!
What kind of incentive party?
Well, the reading teachers will be hosting a “Drive In” party in the library. Students will watch a feature film and dine on a Sonic lunch! How cool is that?
How do I take AR tests during the summer?
We will open the library during the summer for you to take tests, and you can take them the first week of school (by August 14th). Mark your calendars, the summer schedule is below:
June 8th—9:00-11:00 AM
June 18th—5:30-7:30 PM
June 30th—9:00-11:00 AM
July 9th—5:30-7:30 PM
July 27th—9:00-11:00 AM
Can I check out books from the NCJH library?
No, but you can check out books from your local library, and by the way the Livingston Parish libraries have all kinds of cool summer programs!
How do I know the AR reading level of a book and how many points it is worth?
Go to arbookfind.com where you can check the level of any book. Also, local libraries have lists of AR books, their levels, and their point values.
So students find some fun summer reads and keep reading. We hope to see you at the “Drive In” in August!
